Walks - There a miles and miles of walks in the surrounding area. ![]() Not only is there a museum, located in the former Bulmer's factory, but there is also The Cider Route, for those wanting to experience the farms, breweries and many tasting shops. Hereford - As well as it's amazing cathedral and lovely walks, Hereford is known for it's cider. Ludlow - A thriving medieval market town, Ludlow is home to an 11th century castle as well as an abundance of events throughout the year. Amongst the streets you will find cafes, coffee shops, bookshops and more. Ledbury - This amazing market town is a 30 minute drive away next to the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are more great pubs further off, peaceful Hay-on-Wye to explore and hiking in the Brecon Beacons to tire you out before you come home to the quiet of your little cabin by the lake. ![]() The nearest shops are six miles away in Leominster, so stock up on essentials before you arrive or make the two mile walk to the Fisherman’s Arms and have someone else do the cooking for you. The bed, blanket boxes and raw, textured wood of the walls combine with sheepskins, rugs and the huge wood-burner to give a cosy frontier feel, but creature comforts like a hot shower, a kettle and a combi oven haven’t been forgotten. Curlews Cabin is Tim’s personal labour of love, crafted by his own hands from Norwegian Spruce that grows on the farm next door. Owners Tim and Karen live just over the hill and will leave you to it unless you want to talk local tips or where to eat locally. Even at night, sitting down by the water in the specially-made BBQ area, you’ll catch the hoot of owls from the trees of the chestnut grove that frames the cabin. You’ll hear and see them all as you lie on the pier by the water, paddle the boat around the lake or watch the sun slowly set behind the coppice from the handcrafted, covered bench swing on the verandah. Two species of deer, buzzards, herons and a host of others all call the 200 acre organic dairy farm home. Curlews Cabin was named for the birds that nest nearby, but with the abundance of wildlife that surrounds the idyllic lakeside spot, it could have been called so many things. ![]()
